Attorney Kandace D. Walter has more than a decade of legal experience to meet your business and intellectual property needs.
Prior to the creation of Walter Legal PLLC, Ms. Walter was employed at a small firm focusing on intellectual property (prosecution and litigation) and commercial litigation. Ms. Walter’s extensive courtroom experience and technical background give her a unique perspective for the issues facing entrepreneurs, small business owners and inventors.
After graduating from The University of Texas School of Law, Ms. Walter began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney for the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. During her tenure, Ms. Walter worked in the misdemeanor and felony courts trying cases before juries and judges. Ms. Walter’s trial experience exceeds thirty (30) jury trials. Ms. Walter has also worked for a medium-sized firm (formerly Vincent Moyé) focusing on school law and general litigation matters for various districts around the state.
Ms. Walter has also worked as an Assistant City Attorney and Community Prosecutor for the Dallas City Attorney’s Office. She worked with police, fire, and code to address quality of life issues in her assigned community. Her projects aided in the empowerment and restoration of the community through the development of partnerships between citizens and local, state and national governmental and nonprofit agencies.
Ms. Walter is also currently an adjunct professor at Collin County Community College and teaches Introduction to Intellectual Property. She presents fundamentals of intellectual property law, including creation, procurement, preparation, and filing documents related to patents, copyrights, trademarks, and the processes of intellectual property litigation.
Ms. Walter is a native Texan and graduate of Richardson High School. Ms. Walter is an attorney in good standing with the State Bar of Texas and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
