Smokey John’s Bar-B-Que & Home Cooking first opened its doors for business in 1976 on the corner of Lemmon and Mockingbird under the name of “Big John’s.” Soon, this busy intersection was filled with the alluring aroma of burning hickory. Our hickory smoke became the signature of the neighborhood, enticing customers from around Texas to stop by and experience our delicious home cooking. Owner John Reaves earned the nickname “Smokey John” and our restaurant soon followed.
Our restaurant is open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays. We enjoy serving great food with a smile and invite you to come join our thousands of loyal customers.
